The PERMIDES project was launched in Karlsruhe on 1 September. PERMIDES is an EU project with the aim of promoting innovation in the biopharmaceutical industry. Eight partners from Germany, Austria and Norway are participating in the project. The companies include three leading biopharmaceutical associations. The project is specifically intended to help SMEs acquire partners in the IT environment.
In tandem with our partner NETSYNO, i-views is providing an online platform. The intention is to use the platform to find mutually suitable pharmaceutical and IT companies for projects. A grant application for the project can then be made. The platform will support both the process of finding partners and the grant application process. This will result in an enormous shortening of the processes for the partnering companies.
Networking of data
A large data pool is generated from the various types of data in a company. Network connections can then be created by our semantic graphic database, k-infinity. For i-views, a key aspect here is the search function. Besides the issue of which IT services are relevant for biopharmaceutical companies, there are other criteria, such as geographical location and experience, that are relevant for the hit list. The varying weighting of these aspects is a particular challenge that we face in this project.
Big data for developing medicines
PERMIDES is pursuing an ambitious goal. In short, large volumes of data that exist in different forms need to be linked to one another: patient data, research results and doctors’ notes. This information should give biopharmaceutical organisations an indication of how medicine development can be attuned to individual requirements in the future.
PERMIDES is running from now to the end of August 2018. With k-infinity, we are laying a foundation for the modernisation and digitisation of the biopharmaceutical industry. We will provide you with continuous updates about the latest events.
